Host FAQ




1. How many students can I host?
You can host 2-4 students. The maximum number of students is per room is 2 and the maximum number of students per household is 4 (in two or more rooms)
2. What is my financial responsibility?

Share meals and include your student in normal family outings. Students come with their own insurance and spending money to buy what they need.

3. How long will my family host a student if we apply?

Students arrive in groups.  Each group stays for a 1-2 weeks and then the next group arrives for the same period of time.  In total expect to host for 5 weeks per season.

4. When do the students arrive?

Students arrive two times per year, winter (February), and summer (July to mid-August)

5. What are the Host Family’s responsibilities?
The host family is to provide a safe, functional, and comfortable home environment in which the student feels at ease and is encouraged to use her or his English skills. Host Families are expected to provide a furnished bedroom and meals (Breakfast and Dinner everyday) for the student, allow the student full use of the household, suitable laundry facilities and cleaning supplies. Each student should have their own bed; they can share a room, 2 students in a room and up to 4 students in a house.

6. What are the student’s ages?
Most of our students are between the ages of 10-18

7. Do students have insurance?
All of our students arrive with medical insurance
8. Who do I contact in case of an emergency?
Our students will give you a card with the name of their chaperone who will be also living in the area.  You can contact he chaperone or your host family coordinator
9. What is the AIA summer Winter Program
Our Summer/Winter Program is providing wonderful campuses for international students for foreign study. Students come oversea to study in our AIA camp, they are here for morning English lesson, and in the afternoons, they will have on campus activities and off campus sightseeing. 
10. What is the next step after I have filled out the application? Home Visit 
We will contact you and arrange a convenient time to visit you and your family in your home. It is important that all family members be home at the time of the visit.
